Lessons

Life shouldn’t be sink or swim,
It’s not the nature of how we begin.
Our parents teach us the ropes,
As we find a way down the slopes.

Aging is not an easy task,
But to what end do we ask?
Do we grow to work & breed,
Or to spread wisdom in our seeds?

A world of peace, where love over rules.
Classes never encouraged during school.
We learn the lessons set out in stone,
And we hear the rest on our own.

What do we teach children as they get old?
The world is safe until the lies unfold.
It’s a hostile system that we hear,
Life shouldn’t be what our children fear.
