The mind haunts itself
Of deadly radiation,
You dig for answers
In the ashes of salvation.
It’s an explosive reaction
Like a nuclear fusion,
The aftermath of war
Builds this intrusion.
You try to run
From all of the trouble,
But the mind buries you
Under the rubble.
You dig through the dust
So you’re able to breathe,
As this toxic atmosphere
Won’t let you leave.
You can win the battle
And lose the war,
As the emotions linger
In every spore.
There’s hope on the horizon
As your still breathing,
You hear the particles whisper
A call of freedom.
