All I ever wanted
Was butterflies
Magic & rainbows.
This was mistranslated,
As I received chaos
Insanity, darkness
& blows after blows.
I wanted the freedom
Of dancing in the meadows,
Singing with the birds
Whilst the fish
Nibble my toes.
Instead I settled for,
Running from depression
That I’m keeping fed,
Staying up all night
Chatting to the voices
That are in my head.
Maybe it’s me
As my expectations
Are slightly eccentric,
It’s more like a fantasy,
As it couldn’t be any further
From reality.
K
Sounds like a tough day fairytale princess.
I wouldn’t worry about it you’ll eventually get what you want if you know what you want.
Nice piece Katrina.

Our inner most dreams come alive in our mind, while our reality is shaped by things out of our control, but, a dream is worth having, if the dream is worth something.

Yes it is, dreams and imagination are the only thing we have to drown out realty, thank you xx

Long day. A lot of talkers today claiming to be doers. Bizarre. The writing is on the stone table…so said Aslan.

This is a really great piece of comparative imagery. It’s tragic in the acceptance that all the expectations of good may never come to pass. Yet there’s hope in the words because the speaker knows they still exist, hasn’t forgotten the butterflies and rainbows.
I really like this, it’s very easy to relate to and is just a lovely piece of writing…beyond its sorrow.

There ain’t nothing wrong with being a dreamer… well till you wake up. I for one will always have hope, no matter how much I’m dragged to the dark.

Escaping this reality and stepping into the dream world is much better. Outside of reality is chaos and pain. I’d much rather live in my own imagination because our dreams numb us of such precious worlds. 🙂
Excellent poem my friend. 🙂

The reason I am buying your book is because I want to support and of course read and get into the minds of the authors themselves. Second, I know what it feels like when no one supports or buys an authors book.
I can’t wait to get my hands on your copy so I can read it and absorb your mind. 🙂
